Vote counting for the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) Elections 2026 is currently underway following a 40.46% voter turnout, which marks the highest participation in the last three years. Over 1.51 lakh students cast their votes for the four central panel positions: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Joint Secretary. 

Early trends indicate a close contest, with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) candidates Yash Dabas (President) and Riya Chhawadi (Secretary) taking early leads. Meanwhile, the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) candidate Gopal Chaudhary is leading for the Joint Secretary post. The ABVP has already secured clean sweeps in several pre-polling college union elections, including Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Aditi Mahavidyalaya, and Shivaji College. The second phase of polling for selecting the Delhi University Student Union (DUSU) will end at 7:30 pm. Polling is currently underway with counting and resuls to be take place tomorrow, September 19, 2026

Security arrangements have been strengthened across Delhi University for DUSU Election 2026 voting. More than 600 police personnel have reportedly been deployed, with security measures including drones, CCTV cameras and body-worn cameras. Delhi Police has also deployed quick reaction teams and other security units to maintain order during polling.

The AISA-SFI alliance is also contesting the DUSU Election 2026 central panel. The alliance has fielded Ananya Raturi for President, Akshat Shikhar for Vice-President, Stanzin Deskhyong for Secretary and B. Parijat for Joint Secretary. The alliance is among the major groups contesting the four central posts.

NSUI has also fielded a full panel for the DUSU Election 2026. The organisation has nominated Vijay Shankar Meena for President, Veer Chatrath for Vice-President, Namrata Chaudhary for Secretary and Gopal Chaudhary for Joint Secretary. Voting for all four central posts is taking place today across Delhi University.

ABVP has fielded candidates for all four central DUSU posts. Its panel includes Yash Dabas for President, Eeshu Maurya for Vice-President, Riya Chhabri for Secretary and Lakshyaraj Singh for Joint Secretary. The candidates are contesting against panels and candidates backed by other student organisations.

The DUSU President Election 2026 features candidates including Yash Dabas of ABVP, Vijay Shankar Meena of NSUI and Ananya Raturi of the AISA-SFI alliance. Seven candidates are in the final contest for the President post, while the four central posts together have 20 candidates in the final list.

More than 1,100 electronic voting machines (EVMs) are being used for the DUSU Election 2026. The arrangements include 830 ballot units and 281 control units for polling across Delhi University. Delhi University is conducting DUSU Election 2026 voting in two shifts today. Students attending day classes can cast their votes from 8:30 AM to 1 PM, while students of evening classes can vote between 3 PM and 7:30 PM. Students are required to follow the university's polling guidelines and vote at their designated polling location.
